DEPENDENCE OF THE ATMOSPHERE DISTRIBUTION OF PRECIPITABLE WATER ON THE QUASI-DECADAL PACIFIC CIRCULATION FACTOR PDO (FOR THE TERRITORY OF THE ALTAI REGION)
Main Article Content
Abstract
This work analyzes the relationship between total precipitable water in the troposphere and circulation conditions determined by the PDO teleconnection index for the flat territory of the Altai Region for the cold and warm seasons. Based on the analysis of trends in interannual changes, spatial distribution, periodic oscillations in the time series of the studied parameters, it was established that in the study area there is a statistical quasi-decadal relationship between these parameters. The relationship between the spatial distribution of precipitable water in the atmosphere and the prevailing southwesterly flows is most significantly manifested in the warm season. Analysis of wavelet spectra showed that with a high degree of confidence it can be assumed that for the study area in the warm season there is a stable relationship between the circulation form of the PDO index and precipitable water on the scale of 11-year periods of oscillations.
