(requirements for papers submitted for publication in Bulletin of the Altay Branch of the Russian Geographical Society [IZVESTIÂ ALTAJSKOGO OTDELENIÂ RUSSKOGO GEOGRAFIČESKOGO OBŜESTVA (IZVESTIÂ AO RGO)] )

BULLETIN AB RGS publishes scientific and popular scientific articles devoted to geographical, geological, ecological, faunal and floristic research, natural geographical education, local lore, as well as reflecting the activities of the Russian Geographical Society. The authors submit their articles in Russian, carefully edited.

Copyright materials and messages are accepted through the information system http://rgo-journal.ru/.

BULLETIN AB RGS is published four times a year.

Articles submitted to the editorial board are checked using the "Anti-plagiarism" system; authors are recommended to check their articles for the degree of originality of the text before submitting them.

Articles submitted to the journal are subject to scientific review. The journal BULLETIN AB RGS provides for anonymous peer review (the author/authors are not disclosed personal data of the reviewer). Scientific articles received from the authors are subject to primary control for completeness and correctness of registration in accordance with the Rules for sending articles. The primary expert evaluation of a scientific article is carried out by the editor-in-chief (deputy editor-in-chief) or the issuing editor. The editor-in-Chief (deputy editor-in-chief or issuing editor) determines a member of the editorial board supervising the corresponding direction (scientific discipline) based on the reviewer's article. Reviewers (both members of the editorial board and external ones) must be recognized experts on the subject of the reviewed article and have published on the subject of the reviewed article within the last 5 years. The reviewer's review consists of responses to standard questionnaire questions and may contain additional extended comments. In addition, the reviewer can make comments and edits to the text of the manuscript. Authors are sent an electronic version of the questionnaire and reviewers ' comments. The author must return the revised copy to the editorial office together with the original copy and the answer to all the reviewer's questions no later than 1 month after receiving the review. If an article is recommended for publication, it undergoes editorial training: technical editing, proofreading. The final version of the article prepared for publication is agreed with the author (s). After the publication of the edition, each author (co-author) whose article is included in the next issue, the editorial board sends an electronic copy of the journal.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DESIGN OF ARTICLES SUBMITTED FOR PUBLICATION IN THE JOURNAL BULLETIN AB RGS

4	Registration of manuscripts	The volume of the article (together with the list of references, tables and figures) should be up to 30 thousand printed characters (including spaces) for original articles, up to 40 thousand printed characters (including spaces) for review articles. The article should be written in Times New Roman font, font size 12, line spacing 1.5. Alignment on both edges. Page margins are 2.5 cm on all sides, and paragraph margins are 0.7 cm. The pages of the article should be numbered only for the printed version, and for the electronic version – without page numbering. The material submitted for publication must be checked for spelling and grammar. You can't use automatic word wrap. The entire text part of the article should be recorded in 1 file (title page, abstract, keywords, article text, tables, figures, references, information about authors). The file with the text of the article should be named after the first author of the article (Ivanov-text. docx). Check the Latin names and taxonomy of animals and plants by: https://www.gbif.org . The names of taxa of the genus and species are printed in italics. For floristic, faunal, and taxonomic works, when first mentioned in the text and tables, the Russian name of the species is given (if there is such a name) and the full Latin name, with the author and preferably with the year, for example: water donkey (Asellus aquaticus (L. 1758)). In the future, you can only use the Russian name or abbreviated Latin name without the author's last name and year of publication. All letters and abbreviations entered by the author should be deciphered in the text when they are first mentioned (but not in the title of the article or in the summary). Units of physical quantities are given according to the International SI system. Use a dot for decimal fractions: 0.54. You must distinguish between a dash (as a punctuation mark) " – " and a hyphen (as part of a word)" -". The minus sign is indicated by a hyphen, for example, -5 ^o s. Enter the percentage, ppm, and degree signs without breaking away from the number, for example, 15%. Other dimensions are separated from numbers, for example, 10 kg, 100 copies, etc.
5	Article title design (title, authors, organizations)	The title of the article is placed on the first page: 1) index of the article according to the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC), on the first page, in the upper-left corner; 2) the title of the article (in capital letters, bold, center alignment) should briefly but accurately reflect the problem raised; 3) initials and surnames of the authors (centered); 4) the full name of the organization – the place of work of each author in the nominative case in Russian, italics, in the center. If there are several authors and they work in different institutions, you should use Arabic numerals to indicate that the authors ' surnames correspond to the institutions where they work. If all the authors of the article work in the same institution, you don't need to specify the place of work of each author separately; 5) e-mail address for each author. The title is issued in Russian and English.
6	Abstract and keywords	The abstract to the article is the main source of information, it should create a complete picture of the content of the article. The abstract should be written in a single text without dividing into paragraphs, italics, alignment-in width, and have a volume of at least 600 characters. A separate line contains a list of keywords (at least 5). Keywords are listed separated by a semicolon, and a period is added at the end of the list. The abstract and keywords should be presented in both Russian and English.
7	Article structure	The original article should be structured in the following sections:: - relevance of the issue; - purpose of the study; - materials and methods; - results and discussion (in a separate section, the results of our own research are compared with the literature data, with references to sources) - conclusions or conclusions. For articles that are literature reviews, sections should also be highlighted.
8	Requirements for drawings	Figures are placed in the text of the article, immediately after the link to them in the text. Each drawing must be clear and readable with the TIFF (*.TIF) or JPG extension, with a resolution of 300 dpi or higher. The caption is given after the drawing and must contain the serial number of the drawing (if any) and its name. In the text of the article, each figure should be accompanied by a link (Fig. 1, Fig. 2, etc.). Abbreviations should be decoded in captions, details in figures should be indicated by numbers or letters, the meaning of which is also given in the captions. The names of drawings are duplicated in English.
9	Table requirements	Tables should contain only the necessary data and represent generalized and statistically processed materials. Charts and graphs should not duplicate tables. Tables are placed in the text of the article in close proximity to the reference to them in the text. Above the table on the right, indicate the number of the table (if there is only one table, the number is not specified, but the word "Table" is written), and its name is given in the center below. Abbreviations of words in tables are not allowed. All figures in the tables must match the figures in the text. All abbreviations used in the table are explained in the Note below. Table names are duplicated in English. The table is designed in Times New Roman font, size 10. In the text of the article, each table should be accompanied by a reference (Table 1, Table 2, etc.).
10	Requirements for formulas	Mathematical formulas should be presented as editable text, not as images. Each formula must be followed by an explanation of the letter designations.
11	Requirements for the list of references	Bibliographic references in the text of the article should be placed in square brackets, the author's last name and year of publication should be indicated, for example: TEXT, TEXT, TEXT [Ivanov, 1996]. In the case of a literal quotation, the page number of the quoted quotation is also indicated, i.e. "TEXT, TEXT, TEXT ..." [Ivanov and Petrov, 1999, p. 5]. If there are 3 or more authors, indicate the first author, etc. [Ivanov et al., 1996]. If the author's surname is used in the text: TEXT, TEXT, TEXT ... according to I. I. Ivanov [1996] or ... I. I. Ivanov et al. [1996]. If the source has no authors: TEXT, TEXT, TEXT [Methodology..., 2005] or in the text – ... "Sampling methodology..." [2005]. The list of references is arranged in alphabetical order by the authors ' surnames and in chronological order-the works of one author. References and lists of references should be drawn up in accordance with GOST R 7.0.5-2008. Bibliographic reference. General requirements and rules of compilation (http://www.bookchamber.ru/GOST_P_7.0.5.-2008). The list of works is presented in alphabetical order. All references are given in the original language (names in Japanese, Chinese, and other languages that use a non-Latin font are written in the Russian transcription). First, a list of works in Russian and Cyrillic alphabets is given, and then-works in Latin alphabets. After the article, two references are listed at once. One in Russian "List of references", the second list" References " is formed entirely in English. It is given in a separate list, repeating all the positions of the main list of references. Descriptions of Russian-language works are indicated in Latin transliteration, and their translation into English is placed next to them in square brackets. Output data is provided in English (transliteration of the publisher's name is allowed). If you have a translated version of the source, you can specify its bibliographic description instead of the transliterated one. Bibliographic descriptions of other works are given in the original language. To compile the list, we recommend using free online transliteration services, the BSI variant.

FULL name – in full in Russian and English; full postal address of each organization (country, city) in Russian and English (as it is presented in official documents and/or on the official website); positions, academic titles, academic degrees of authors; e-mail address for each author; phone number for contacts with authors articles (you can choose one for all authors).

Rules for reviewing articles

Review (expert evaluation) of manuscripts of scientific articles, scientific reviews, scientific reviews and reviews (hereinafter-scientific articles) in the editorial office of the journal BULLETIN AB RGS is carried out to maintain a high scientific and theoretical level of publication and in order to select the most valuable and relevant (promising) scientific works.
The journal BULLETIN AB RGS provides for anonymous peer review (the author/authors are not disclosed personal data of the reviewer).
Scientific articles received from the authors are subject to primary control for completeness and correctness of registration in accordance with the Rules for sending articles.
The primary expert evaluation of a scientific article is carried out by the editor-in-chief (deputy editor-in-chief) or the issuing editor.
The editor-in-Chief (deputy editor-in-chief or issuing editor) determines a member of the editorial board supervising the corresponding direction (scientific discipline) based on the reviewer's article.

In the absence of a member of the editorial board supervising the relevant field (scientific discipline), an external reviewer is determined.

Reviewers (both members of the editorial board and external ones) must be recognized experts on the subject of the reviewed article and have published on the subject of the reviewed article within the last 5 years.

After an expert evaluation of a scientific article, the reviewer can::

recommend an article for publication;
recommend the article for publication after revision, taking into account comments;
do not recommend the article for publication.

If the reviewer recommends that the article be republished after revision, taking into account comments, or does not recommend the article for publication, the review should indicate the reasons for this decision.

The presence of a significant share of critical comments of the reviewer with an overall positive recommendation makes it possible to classify the material as polemical and publish it in the order of scientific discussion.
If there are sufficient grounds for this, scientific articles can be sent for additional review. The grounds for re-reviewing are as follows::

insufficient qualification declared by the expert (s) in the issues considered in the scientific article;
insufficient level of initial expert opinion;
acute discussion of the provisions expressed in the scientific article.

The reviewer submits the completed review to the editorial office in the form of a scanned copy by e-mail or in paper form by mail.
The editorial board sends the authors of submitted materials copies of reviews or a reasoned refusal. At the same time, in order to comply with the provisions of paragraph 2 of these Rules, the editorial board "depersonalizes" the review, sending the author an extract from the review concerning the substance of the article, but not disclosing the reviewer's personal data. The editorial board sends copies of reviews to the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation upon receipt of a corresponding request.
Reviews are kept in the editorial office for 5 years.

Rules for publishing articles

These rules define the procedure for interaction between authors of scientific articles, editors and reviewers, as well as regulate the process of publishing scientific articles.
A carefully proofread copy of the article, drawn up in accordance with these Rules for sending Articles, is submitted to the editorial Office.
The received article is registered in the journal of articles registration with the date of receipt, title, full name of the author (s).
After registration, the article is sent by electronic mail for initial evaluation to the editor-in-chief (deputy editor-in-chief or issuing editor), who appoints a reviewer for the article.
After the appointment of a reviewer, the author's (authors') personal data is deleted from the article. In this form, the article is sent to the reviewer by e-mail.
After conducting an expert assessment of the article, the reviewer sends the completed review to the editor. Reviews are submitted in the form of scanned copies by electronic mail or in paper form by mail.

If the reviewer has comments and suggestions on the article that lead to revision of the article, the reviewer together with the review can send the corresponding letter in any form and/or the text of the article indicating the necessary corrections to the editorial board.

Based on the review received, the editorial board sends an email to the author (s) about the decision made in relation to the article: publish, publish after revision, reject publication.

If a decision is made to publish the article after revision, the letter contains recommendations for revision.

If a decision is made to reject the publication, specify the reasons for this decision.

The editorial board sends the article that has been revised by the author and recommended by the reviewer to the same reviewer for a second review.

If the article is recommended for publication, it undergoes editorial training: technical and literary (if necessary) editing, proofreading. The final version of the article prepared for publication is agreed with the author (s).
The editorial issue of the journal includes articles for which there are reviews by the time of the beginning of layout (in accordance with the production schedule), recommending the publication, and approved by the editor (authors).
After the publication of the edition, each author (co-author) whose article is included in the current issue, the editorial board sends the author's copy of the journal.
